Maxim Nedzvetsky, Director General of Gazprom VNIIGAZ, and Ulf Heitmueller, Chairman of the Executive Board of VNG, today signed at the 9th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum a contract on updating the operating mode calculation procedure for the Bernburg underground gas storage (UGS) facility.
The contract was signed in the follow-up to the Sci-Tech Cooperation Agreement between Gazprom and VNG. The document provides for the adjustment of the operating mode calculation procedure, which is currently applied at the Bernburg UGS facility, with consideration of various technical parameters to minimize energy consumption.
Gazprom VNIIGAZ is the leading R&D technology center of Gazprom focused on designing and promoting cutting-edge technologies, modeling, regulatory and metrological support, supervising research activities within Gazprom’s comprehensive programs as well as devising national and regional development programs for the gas industry.
VNG is engaged in natural gas imports, underground storage and consumer supplies in Germany’s eastern federal states and in Berlin.
In January 2013, Gazprom and VNG entered into the Sci-Tech Cooperation Agreement effective until December 31, 2029.
