Hinkley Point C, the UK’s nuclear power station on the north Somerset coast, currently has 250 apprenticies working on the site as of today. EDF plans to have a total of 1000 apprentices working in the project and further the amount of clean electricity that nuclear energy will provide for the UK in the future. Current nuclear energy sites provide 20% of the UK’s electricty.
New hi-tech equipment and prototypes will be developed for Gazprom in a deal signed with the Almaz-Antey Corporation at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The technology will be be put towards subsea hydrocarbon production, liquefied natural gas production and gas processing and will be ready for testing in the near future.
