Wholesale gas costs are the chief driver of retail prices
We update these prices on a daily basis, and they reflect the wholesale natural gas price in the UK. (looking for market closing or live prices?) This is the price that energy suppliers are paying and exclude Transco and distribution costs, along with the various Green levies. These are not the prices consumers pay, however, this information is useful for reviewing price trends, market timing and so on.

Index: The Natural Gas Price Index is the weighted average of trades during a fifteen minute period from 16:00 London time and is calculated on each business day until the front-month contract expires which is two business days prior to the first calendar day of that month. I.e. Index figures in January are for gas delivered in February, and so on.
All prices are in pence per Therm, where 1 Therm is 29.3 kWh.
