they are the second largest energy supplier in the UK. From their beginnings as suppliers of electricity in the highlands of Scotland and throughout Southern England, they have built on a rich technical heritage and expanded their range of services to become a true multi-utility service provider.
is a vertically integrated energy company with its headquarters in Glasgow, Scotland. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange and was once a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index but in 2006 it became a subsidiary of the Spanish utility Iberdrola. It is the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) for the central and southern Scotland and the Merseyside and North Wales regions. It is also the Transmission Owner (TO) for the south of Scotland. The company also supplies electricity and gas to homes and business around the United Kingdom and generates power for supply to the grid. It also owns PPM Energy in the United States.
is one of the UK’s largest energy companies and its largest producer of low-carbon electricity. A wholly-owned subsidiary of the EDF Group, one of Europe’s largest energy groups, they generate around one fifth of the UK’s electricity and employ around 15,000 people. They supply electricity and gas to around 5.5 million residential and business customers, making them the biggest supplier of electricity by volume.

are one of Britain’s leading business energy suppliers. They are dedicated to the needs of small to medium-sized customers through to large industrial and commercial energy users. In total, British Gas Business has more than 950,000 business sites throughout Great Britain. The parent company Centrica is a top 30 FTSE100 company with growing energy businesses in the UK, North America and Europe.
